This fall, we’re offering a basic political foundations seminar in English for shop stewards and active members. You’ll find all the key information in the attached documents. Here’s a quick overview:
Title: How to organize and create a strong community among colleagues
What to expect:
• Learn the basics about works councils and trade unions in Germany
• Understand collective agreements and labor law
• Discuss current and relevant topics from your workplace
• Explore how to do effective public relations, motivate your colleagues, and build a strong community in a multicultural workplace
• Practice one-on-one communication skills
When, Where, and How?
• Duration: 2.5 days – from 23.10.25, 9:00 AM to 25.10.25 01:00 PM (arrival the evening before is possible)
• Sign up through your local IG Metall office. Deadline: 01. September 2025
• Location: Eden Hotel in Göttingen
• Leave: Paid educational leave (Bildungsurlaub) available in most federal states (except Bavaria and Saxony), or paid leave through IG Metall
• Costs: IG Metall covers accommodation, travel, meals, and seminar fees
